Natalia Turns 5!

Our sweet girl turned 5 a few days ago. I say it every year, but I can't believe our "baby" is growing up so fast. This photo was taken yesterday, following our first attempt at hosting a "girls only" party for Natalia and a few friends from school. We invited ten girls thinking maybe six would come, but we ended up with nine! It was a fun but exhausting two hours, with back-to-back crafts, games, snacks, and lots of little-girl shrieking. Monte was fantastic at getting the girls' attention and directing the games -- one of which included "Pin the horn on the unicorn." Heh.

Natalia was fortunate enough to celebrate her real birthday last Monday with Grandma and Grandpa Frazier, who spent two weeks with us here in London. They brought their friends the Lindburgs, and we all had a fine time together. In addition to making the rounds of the usual tourist destinations, we all piled into the Volvo and spent a weekend in Kent, eastern England. The weather was cold and so were our overnight accommodations, but we were lucky to find several excellent ancient pubs with blazing fireplaces and excellent food to warm us all up! Another highlight of their visit was attending our first West End show (I know, what took us so long?!) -- Les Miserables. It was fantastic. We're pretty sure that even the farmers liked it!

Photos of the Frazier/Lindburg visit, our family birthday party, and Natalia's girly party are all posted on my Flickr site. Click the photo links above left for January and February.

In other news, we're fast approaching Birth Day for Natalia's little sister. She's due on April 27 but will have a scheduled delivery around the 16th. It's a relief for this mama to know that I won't have to endure all the unknowns and tests and risks of another 43-week pregnancy! According to our doctor, 38 weeks is long enough. Woot! (Belly pix now have their own set on Flickr. Link above left.) Now to arrange travel plans for Grandma and Grandpa Randell so they can be present on Birth Day ... !
