Ten days until birth day!

Holy smokes, my friends! Where have the last nine months disappeared to? We're in the final countdown over here in London ... Six days until my parents arrive; ten days until our baby joins us! Natalia made a paper chain to count down various events: how many school days left until spring break; how many days until grandparents come; how many days until Little Sister emerges ... the chain loses a link every day, and my anxiety/excitement level creeps up a notch.

Monte left for Kiev today, and flies from there to Washington D.C. for a few days afterward. He will arrive at Heathrow about an hour before my parents, next Saturday the 12th. They'll cab-it home together and then the real fun will begin. Natalia is beside herself with joyful anticipation over seeing Gram and Gramp, and discovering the treats they've promised to pack in their suitcases. She's on spring break for the next two weeks, so the timing couldn't be better for some full-on grandparent attention. Grandma Carolyn's stay is represented by the orange links in the chain. She arrives 4/30 after everyone else has gone home. We are so blessed to have so much help from the USA! Today Natalia said, "I wish both grandmas could be here at the same time."

In Monte's absence this week, our friends Tallie and Tom are graciously standing by with cell phone in hand and our house keys in their pocket, JUST in case I have to call them in the middle of the night to stay with Natalia while I catch a cab to the hospital. After carrying Natalia for 43 weeks, I'm not TOO concerned that I'll go into labor at 37 weeks, but ... !!

I've posted a handful of new photos to my April 2008 set on Flickr. See link above left. Thanks to everyone who's keeping our family in their thoughts and prayers this month. We'll post news of Baby's arrival as soon as possible after her birth.
